Skye Produce was set up in 2007 to sell all the home made produce from The Old Mission House in Staffin on the Isle of Skye. Up until that time, the produce had only been available through selected outlets and the Skyelight Candles web site, who have very kindly said they will still deal with the web site transactions for Skye Produce, however not many people would think of going on to a candle web site to look for jam - hence, this new site. |

| At The Old Mission House we started making our own jams and marmaldes in 2001 for our bed and breakfast guests, rather than serve them up with those dreadful little tubs of branded produce well-known throughout the hotel industry. Many of the guests asked to buy jars of the jams and marmalades and soon the local hotel asked if we would supply them with the same - word was starting to spread. | ||
| Soon, The Old Mission House brand was seen in places such as Canada, Italy, Australia, Edinburgh and Wentworth Street (Portree). Still, all the jams and marmalades are made in the kitchens of The Old Mission House in Staffin. We don't farm any of the work out to others. The same is true of the tablet, which comes in bags or presentation boxes. | ||
